After receiving a BFA in graphic design, I became a weaver for 15 years. I then began working, first with dyed felted wool, then with dyed and painted silk and linen. During that time I produced wall pieces for interior designers in Atlanta, as well as functional and wearable pieces for individual use.

In the early nineties, I returned to drawing and painting. Since then, I have studied with several well know plein-air painters in Arizona, New York, North Carolina, and Italy, as well as with several highly respected painters in the Atlanta area. Painting allows me to respond to and interpret places and situations more immediately than working with fabric. I am an avid gardener and a frequent traveler, so the majority of my paintings are landscape and still life. The paintings are oil and painted either “en plein-air” or from photographs and sketches from each particular site. The focus in my paintings is color and light in whatever my subject might be.
